The TCRCE 2018 Regional Heritage Fair results are as follows:

The top three winners overall in the Regional Heritage Fair held on Thursday, May 3, are (from right to left)

1st place:  Ava O’Neil, grade 7, Digby Regional High School, for her project “Untold Stores of Digby Municipality”

2nd place:  Boston Aldred, grade 4, Drumlin Heights Consolidated School, for his project “The Leadup to the Halifax Explosion”

3rd Place:  Hunter Eisner, grade 7, Digby Regional High School, for his project “White Gold”

Young Citizens Award:

The students pictured above (from left to right) received the Young Citizens Award for communication skills, enthusiasm and leadership qualities:

  • Hannah Robicheau, Digby Regional High School (project: Scalloping 101)
  • Kevin Cotter, Lockeport Regional High School (project: The changes in lobster fishing in NS over the past 150 years)
  • Ava O’Neil, Digby Regional High School  (project: Untold stories of Digby Municipality)
  • Cadence Cromwell, St. Mary’s Bay Academy (project: Birchtown and The Black Loyalist Society)
Local History Award:

Pictured above is Olivia Hamilton, grade 6, Port Maitland School, who received the Local History Award for her project “The Cotton Mill”, presented by John Sollows.

People’s Choice Award:

Pictured above is Madeline Mooney, grade 4, Yarmouth Central School, who received the People’s Choice Award for her project “Les histories de fantomes de la Nouvelle-Ecosse”.
