Suspended Bus Route (Shelburne)

Due to driver shortages Shelburne County Bus Route Changes effective Tuesday 2nd April until further notice- Routes affected 417 and 419. Hillcrest Academy Rte 417 is being combined with rte 419 meaning that all students (apart from those on Hartz Point Rd & Digby Street) will be collected by rte 419 10 mins earlier in the AM and dropped off 5 mins later in the PM. Students on Birchtown Road will be collected 15 minutes later in the AM and dropped off 5 mins later in the PM. Hartz Point Rd students will be collected by rte 409 10 mins later in the AM and dropped off by rte 419 5 mins earlier in the PM. Digby Street students will be collected and dropped off by rte 403 AM1/PM1 with no changes to times. SRHS Students at 128 Hammond Street will be collected in the AM and dropped off in the PM by rte 403 with no time changes. Students at 232 Mowatt Street will be collected in the AM and dropped off in the PM by rte 415 with no time changes.

TCRCE Welcomes New Administrators for the 2022-23 School Year

Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) is pleased to introduce the successful applicants for our school administrator positions.

Congratulations to Julian Dease, Principal at Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School, Colleen d’Entremont, Principal at Drumlin Heights Consolidated School, Casie Melanson, Principal at Islands Consolidated School, and Michelle Tufts, Principal at Digby Elementary School, who are returning to their roles as permanent administrators at their respective schools.

TCRCE would also like to welcome Stephen Cullen to St Mary’s Bay Academy, Jonathan Ettinger to Digby Regional High School, Pam DeViller at Meadowfields Community School, and Frank McMullin to Islands Consolidated (term for 2022-23).

They will all begin these roles as of August 1, 2022.

Stephen Cullen, Principal at St Mary’s Bay Academy. Steve has been an educator and administrator throughout the Tri-Counties over the last 25+ years. Steve is originally from Weymouth and is excited to be ‘coming home.’ Wishing you all the best! Congratulations, Stephen!

Pam DeViller, Principal at Meadowfields Community School. Pam has been an educator for over 25 years with 15 of those years in Administration.  Pam has worked in both TCRCE and CSAP in addition to being Instructor with the Bachelor of Education program at Universite Ste-Anne.  We are proud to welcome Pam to our regional Administrative team.

Jonathan Ettinger, Principal at Digby Regional High School. Jonathan has most recently been at SMBA and MGEC and prior to those postings, spent many years at Digby Elementary School. Jonathan has many ties to the community and already knows many of the students, staff and families. Congratulations Jonathan on your new position.

Frank McMullin, Principal at Islands Consolidated (term for 2022-23). Frank is originally from Glace Bay and is happy to be ‘coming home’ after spending the last six years in Saskatchewan in school administration. Frank has also taught in Cape Breton for a number of years as well as in England and South Korea. Welcome to the TCRCE team, Frank!

Julian Dease, Principal at Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School. Julian has been an educator for 15 years with several of those years including Administration. Julian is a proud Viking and we’re pleased to welcome him to our regional Administrative team. Congratulations Julian!

Colleen d’Entremont, Principal at Drumlin Heights Consolidated School. Colleen has been an educator for over 25 years with the last seven including Administration. Colleen brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to our Tri-County team as well as to the Eagles’ nest. Congratulations Colleen!

Casie Melanson, Principal at Islands Consolidated School (Permanent). Casie has been an educator and administrator in the Digby Neck and Islands communities for nearly a decade.  Casie is very connected to these communities and we are happy to have her joining our Tri-County team. Congratulations Casie!

Michelle Tufts, Principal at Digby Elementary School. Michelle joined the ‘Dragon den’ last year and brings with her many talents and passions. We are so happy to have her joining our Tri-County Administrative team. Congratulations Michelle!
